Musical Keys is seeking new members for our Board of Trustees, to help us build on nearly three decades of work in Norfolk enabling people with additional needs to access music and the arts.

Musical Keys is a Norwich based charity providing a service to people of all ages with disabilities and/or additional needs across Norfolk and beyond. We strive for equal access to music and creativity and aim to provide a service for people who are isolated as a result of disability, geographic location or social deprivation. In 2017 we worked with 630 service users and offered 5556 places over 554 sessions.

Earlier this year our founding CEO, Sallie Eastick MBE, took well-earned retirement. We are determined to ensure her work and dedication – and the efforts of the whole Musical Keys family – are rewarded by the continued growth of the charity. We want to expand the Trustee team to help with that work.

We are particularly interested in those who have skills and experience in the following fields (but if you have skills in other areas and think you can add something to the team, please do get in touch):

  • Communications, including digital
  • Fundraising
  • Impact assessment
  • Health, care, SEN and disability
  • Music and the arts

No previous Board experience is necessary. Full Board meetings take place every six weeks with sub-committees (membership optional) meeting in between. We hope Trustees will take full advantage of the volunteering opportunities offered by the charity but a commitment to regular attendance at Board meetings is the minimum that we seek.

To apply, please send a CV and covering letter to Ed Maxfield at ed@musicalkeys.co.uk  by 31st August. For an informal chat, please contact Ed on 01603 766690

Trustees will normally be subject to a DBS check prior to confirmation of appointment. You can read more about the duties of being a trustee and check eligibility requirements here.
